Want to write for ALTInsider.com?

writingfor

I’ve written over a hundred posts for this site, and I’ve got plenty more ideas in the ol’ thinkbox. But the truth is, I haven’t experienced everything there is to experience when it comes to the ALT game. If you’ve got a tip or idea or experience that you think will help people have more fun in Japan, especially if it’s something nobody’s mentioned before, why not share it with the world?

Well, if you’d like to, I’ve got the perfect place to do that: right here!

Here are a few ground rules for what I’m looking for:

  • Articles focused on a single topic
  • 700-1200 words
  • Links to your personal sites, blogs, etc. are totally cool, and even encouraged (in moderation)
  • I have right of last edit, but you can approve or disapprove of any changes before I post your work
  • The world is your kaki regarding topic, as long as it’s in the universe of helping people have more fun in Japan. (“Japan has crazy vending machines!” and similarly observational posts will be kindly rejected.)
  • Make sure your file is either a Word document or in HTML format

I strongly recommend you send me an email with your article idea before you take the time to write up the article, so I can give you some feedback and let you know if it’s the kind of thing I’m looking for.

If you’re interested and want to send your stuff, send your article idea or completed article to james@ALTInsider.com. If you send a completed article, make sure you include the following:

  1. any images you want to use,
  2. a mini-bio to go at the top of the post,
  3. links to things you want linked, and
  4. a head shot, if you would like that to be included.

I look forward to sharing your ideas soon,

-james

P.S. Here’s an example of a great guest post.
